Every candidate has a con. The question is which kind.

Families wait for the perfect candidate and either never hire or talk themselves past a problem. The better move is sorting every weakness into one of two piles.

Sort them into two piles

CARE MAP INSIGHT™

Test the fixable ones during the trial. Never hire hoping a personality will change.

Don't look for perfection. Look for stronger pros than cons.

How to use the two piles

Fixable issues are about knowledge: how you do bedtime, your screen rules, your food preferences. A good caregiver learns these in a week if you teach them clearly.

Personality issues are about who someone is: temperament, warmth, rigidity, how they speak to children. Training doesn't change them, and they tend to grow more noticeable over time, not less. If something already bothers you in week one, it will bother you more in month six.
