Sessions in Oregon

I’m licensed in Oregon (LCSW #L16530) and see adults by video anywhere in the state. You need to be physically in Oregon, or another state where I’m licensed, during each session.

Outside the bigger cities, finding a therapist with openings can take a long time. Video sessions widen your options.

This is individual psychotherapy with a licensed clinician. It isn’t coaching. Couples and family sessions are a different format that insurance may treat differently, so ask before you book if you’re interested in a joint session.

How the Care Map Method™ shapes our sessions

The Care Map Method™ is the framework I use to organize our work, alongside a standard clinical assessment. It isn’t a separate tested treatment. It keeps four kinds of needs in view:

BIOLOGICAL

Sleep, health, energy and stress load.

EMOTIONAL

What you feel, and what you fear.

SOCIAL

Your relationships and support.

ENVIRONMENTAL

Home, schedule, money and daily demands.

Then we work in four steps:

  1. Map the emotion and trigger. We take one recent hard moment and slow it down: what set it off, what you felt, what you did.
  2. Match the need with a strategy. We name the need underneath and choose one strategy that fits it.
  3. Merge the strategy into daily life. We put the strategy into a real day of your week.
  4. Manage communication and responses. We practice the conversations involved, review what happened and adjust.

Sessions, licenses and insurance

Sessions are online by video for adults who are physically located in Oregon, or another state where I’m licensed, during each session. I’m licensed in Oregon (LCSW #L16530), and also in California, New Jersey and Maine.

Through Alma, I’m in network with Aetna, Cigna, Carelon, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts, and Optum plans including UnitedHealthcare, Oscar and Oxford. Coverage depends on your specific plan, not only the insurance company’s name. Alma checks it before your first session, including any copay or deductible, and handles the billing. Questions people ask

Do you have evening availability?

My open times are listed on Alma and change week to week. Check there for current slots.

What happens in the first session?

We talk about what brings you in, your history, your support and your safety. I’ll ask about sleep, stress and your week. You leave with one small, specific thing to try.

Do you see couples or families?

These pages describe individual therapy. Couples and family sessions are different services, and insurance treats them differently; ask before you book.

How do I start?

Check your insurance and my availability on Alma, then book. For a general question first, email tammy@caremapmethod.com or text (818) 308-1358.

Do you take my insurance?

I see clients through Alma, and through Alma I’m in network with Aetna, Cigna, Carelon, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts, and Optum plans including UnitedHealthcare, Oscar and Oxford. Coverage still depends on your specific plan. Alma checks it before your first appointment, including any copay or deductible. Please share plan and health details through Alma’s secure intake, not by text or email.

Do I need to be in Oregon for sessions?

Yes, or in another state where I’m licensed. Sessions are online by video, and you need to be physically in Oregon, California, New Jersey or Maine during each one. If you’ll be traveling, tell me ahead of time so we can plan around it.
