This is individual psychotherapy for adults with a licensed clinical social worker. Sessions combine a standard clinical assessment with practical work between sessions.
It’s separate from my other services. Care Map coaching (help hiring a nanny, choosing a daycare or planning a parent’s care) isn’t therapy and isn’t billed to insurance. I don’t do custody evaluations or mediation, and I’m not a placement agency.
The Care Map Method™ is the framework I use to organize our work, alongside a standard clinical assessment. It isn’t a separate tested treatment. It keeps four kinds of needs in view:
Sleep, health, energy and stress load.
What you feel, and what you fear.
Your relationships and support.
Home, schedule, money and daily demands.
Then we work in four steps:

Columbia University–trained therapist · University of Pennsylvania graduate
I’m a licensed clinical social worker (California LCSW #136364; New Jersey LCSW #44SC05528100; Oregon LCSW #L16530; Maine LCSW #LC26593) and the founder of the Care Map Method™. I’ve worked directly with families for more than 20 years. My book, Secrets of the Nanny Whisperer (Penguin), is about finding and working with a nanny; my therapy work draws on my broader clinical training.
I’ve also shared parenting and family guidance as an expert for outlets including the Today Show, Good Morning America and The New York Times. Press and media.

We talk about what brings you in, your history, your support and your safety. You leave with one small, specific thing to try.
These pages describe therapy for adults. For a question about a teen, email before booking.
No. I’m a licensed clinical social worker. If medication might help, your doctor or a psychiatrist can assess that, and with your permission I can coordinate with them.
I see clients through Alma, and through Alma I’m in network with Aetna, Cigna, Carelon, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts, and Optum plans including UnitedHealthcare, Oscar and Oxford. Coverage still depends on your specific plan. Alma checks it before your first appointment, including any copay or deductible. Please share plan and health details through Alma’s secure intake, not by text or email.
Sessions are online by video, and you need to be physically in California, New Jersey, Oregon or Maine during each one. Your insurance plan can come from another state; what matters for licensing is where you are during the session. Alma checks whether your plan covers sessions with me.
